My Story

Hi, I'm Welmarie (known by most as Val). I grew up in South Africa and now live in Perth, Western Australia where I work full time as a Personal Image Consultant.

Where it started

I’m naturally analytical and I worked in corporate finance for a few years but my longing and appreciation for art and visual beauty quickly pulled me out of office life.

Natural Beauty

I believe that natural beauty is elite and that when cultivated correctly, it is the most advanced level of visual excellence that exists. I believe that humanity is deeply valuable, and that drawing out the natural beauty in humanity is a worthwhile way to spend my time.

Redemption

All of us carry an inner spark that we’ve been aware of since we were young. Due to life’s challenges, many of us mistakenly begin to believe that our inner spark is no longer alive or worth tending to. It is my full belief that no matter what life phase you are in, your inner spark is worth redeeming and cultivating.

All of us have blind spots that keep us from seeing ourselves the way we really are. I believe that the truth sets us free, and that once the lies we believe about ourselves lose their grip, we can move forward in authentic connection to ourselves and others, and with clear vision and purpose.

My Methods

Colour Analysis

I am VERY passionate about what I do.

I taught myself the most difficult method of colour analysis (Sci-Art method) from scratch, by studying colour and how it operates and interacts with human complexions.

I didn’t buy my drape-set from an institution, I built it from scratch using my understanding of colour theory. I scoured fabric stores and second-hand clothing stores for the exact colours I was after, and I now have a huge drape collection of over 300 colours (this is way more than any other colour analyst I have ever come across).

I have a very analytical brain that is always trying to figure things out, and I deeply value art and visual beauty. Colour analysis allows me to combine my love for both of these things into one, which is just such a God-send for me. I adore seeing my clients’ faces come alive when I finally drape their best colours on them (it never gets old) and I now apply the same methods of thinking to style analysis. I am excited for where it will take me.
